One of your favorite table games is now at Barona! Our commission-free Face Up Pai Gow offers a variety of ways to win. Bet the Ace High bonus bet, the Insurance bet, and or the Wild Dynasty Progressive! And don’t forget, with the Insurance bet & the Wild Dynasty progressive you can wager on your hand, the dealer’s hand, or BOTH!
The game is played with a 53-card deck, including a Joker. The Joker can be used as an Ace or to complete straights and flushes. Each player receives seven cards. A roll of the dice determines which player receives the first set of cards. The dealer’s position is always 1, 8, or 15; numbered clockwise. The dealer will turn their hand Face Up and set their hand. This gives players the benefit of knowing what the dealer has and the players can arrange his/her seven cards into a five-card hand and a two-card hand accordingly. Traditional poker rankings are used to set the hands. The five-card hand must rank higher than the two-card hand.
Once all hands are set, they are compared to the dealer’s hand. If both of the player’s hands beat the dealer’s hands, the player wins. If both of the player’s hands lose to the dealer’s hands, the player loses. If a player wins one hand and loses the other, it is considered a Push. Should one hand be exactly the same as the dealer’s hand, it is called a Copy and the dealer wins the hand. Should the dealer receive an Ace High only, all Face Up Pai Gow wagers will Push. House betting limits apply.
